Our Art, Craft and Design course is aimed at preparing students to progress to further or third level education and to also equip our students with the skills necessary to work creatively in many different environments.

The course offers instruction in both practical Drawing and Design skills and also in digital skills using Adobe Photoshop software. All art materials and equipment are provided.

Certification: QQI level 5 Award in Art, Craft and Design (5M1984)

Modules: Modules offered will vary each term. Learners can also choose to do between 1 and 4 modules up to 18 hours timetable per week.

• Design Skills (September to December)

• Drawing (September to December)

• Communications (September to December)

• Image Processing, using Adobe Photoshop software (September to December)

• Assignment Preparation

Course Requirements: For those with English as a second language, a good standard of both written and spoken English is required.

• Setting up your own business

• Further Education: Specialise in a specific area, for example a QQI Level 6 in Furniture Design or Sculpture

• Third Level Education: Apply directly to colleges such as NCAD, DIT and IADT
